Projects from Indian manufactured yarns Part 1

Hey you all!

I am making this post especially for my filipino crochet friends back home. Since that some of them are requesting from me to post some yarns that are made in India in our fb group. I might as well blog and talk about it and share some throwback projects too from the yarns that I have used since I have settled here.

LAURA KNITTING COTTON

I've mostly done small projects for this yarn, except for this blanket which is ok and not something that you have to wear like a  top.  I think that it would be heavy. I remember I made a top out of this and this yarn uses a 3.5-4.5 mm hook and the front neck was sagging a bit.  So I never use this one again for adult tops.

Hook size: 3.5-4mm

GANGA MERINO WOOL

So far, I've only made hats out of these...but i really like to make a sweater out of this yarn. It's merino wool and I love how soft and so squishy this yarn is.  If you've tried merino wool, then you'll never want to use acrylics again!

hook size: 4-5mm

ANCHOR KNITTING COTTON

This thread is by far the most versatile for me when it comes to made to order tops/garments even for tablecloths or homedecors unless the customer wants it made of "wool".  Now, here when they say wool that means yarn or acrylic.

5 year old child cardigan

a personal project - lace top pattern from pierrot yarns

I think that this top came out heavy with this thread because of the big sleeves.  Maybe a cotton/acrylic blend would have been better with this.  The pattern was from a magazine.

Gifted this dress for girl's bday.

This top I gave to my mama when I went home to Cebu in 2019. I think the pattern I got from pinterest with just a graph, cant remember too.

A made to order set. The filipina mom likes crochet dresses and accessories for her baby. This was together with the crocodile stitch hat which was made of laura knitting cotton. Only the dress here is made of Anchor knitting cotton. The bottom pattern I forgot which one, but I got it from picot.com

summer blush pattern from garnstudio.com

Hook size: 2.5mm - 3mm

ANCHOR 4 PLY KNITTING COTTON

cobbler top from rowan

vest

Both garments are in the same shade. I really haven't done much from this yarn.  And right now that cobbler top is still left undone.  For the vest I used 4mm hook, and the cobbler top I use 3.5mm knitting needles. I like how this yarn is plied not loose, like other types when the strands are separating when you start to work on it.  The shade is out of stock and deliveries are taking longer from the backlog and also because of the lockdown here.

Hook size: 2.75-3.25mm

Most of my made to orders are from local people around. I've only had an order once outside the State of Goa.

Those who have bought from me last year from Cebu Crochet Group, please let me know what are your reviews of the yarns that I brought (if you have started to use any of it).:-)
